Tan lines

In the last few weeks the weather has been hot and fine and I have grown very tanned, more so than ever before. It's a bit of a contrast with the photos of me in July in England in my last post, all cardigan and thick tights!

Despite my previous experiments with full-time living, I'm not living as female right now and, tempting though it is to sunbathe in a bikini, I worry that the paler strap lines that would result would give the game away when having to be in male mode. Only women get those telltale pale strap lines over their shoulders and backs. I so want this hallmark of femininity, though.

A dip in the archives

What a bizarre Olympic Games. A year late with no spectators! But we have seen the highest number of openly trans participants, which is encouraging. Of course, there have been athletes who came out as trans after the event.

I did enjoy the Games when they came to London in 2012. A lousy wet summer, one of the worst on record, but the number of events that were freely open to the public to watch was excellent.

Paralympic marathon, London 2012. This was one of the most exciting things I've ever seen, a cross between Wacky Races and Ben Hur!

Ho fatto la prima puntura. Ho dovuto aspettare fino ad adesso perché sono considerata straniera. Che brutta storia questa del Covid.

  1. Well, if you're really after bikini marks, apply two strips of thin tape over your shoulders, and then apply the fake tan 😁

  2. I never go without a shirt in public, so it wouldn't be a problem. Well, except for wifey. But even getting a tan on my legs has been an issue. So, maybe next year!

    1. I perhaps should've explained that I go to the public pool in male mode and so the pale strap lines would give rise to comments I could do without. Apart from that, I am always covered up. Here it's considered rude to go around without a top. Sue x

  3. I'd never really thought about bikini lines, more about not having t-shirt tan lines. Nowadays, after having had a lump of nose removed (basal cell carcinoma) I avoid tanning anywhere! But, I'm quite taken with Lynn's suggestion!LOL

    1. I'm sorry to hear you've had cancer, Nikki. I hope you're OK now. There's plenty of tan substitutes about so go for it! Sue x

    2. Sue, luckily, that type of carcinoma is benign and the consultant's work was fine. I think it might be fun to wear an old bra use fake tan, but I'm not doing any bikini bottom lines at my age (especially a brazilian!) Nikki x

    3. I'm glad to hear the better news about the carcinoma, Nikki. As for bikinis, they do require a bit of, er, self-care. I've never been outdoors in one, and you can blame British weather in large part for that! Sue x
